200 Q&A Series - All books in this series

Brand-new in Barron’s growing 200 Q&A series of books for crafts hobbyists, this profusely illustrated volume uses the easy-reference Q&A format. It answers needlecrafters’ most-often-asked questions about mastering the required techniques for making many different attractive and useful items out of patchwork. Practical answers to 200 questions enlighten readers on—
  • The difference between a template and a stencil and how to use each
  • The best fabric to use for a patchwork bag
  • How to join irregular shapes to create crazy patchwork patterns
  • How a home computer can help in creating patchwork designs
  • How to make pictures with patchwork
  • How to do appliqué . . . and much more
Here, too, is information on needed tools and techniques, fabrics, making and joining blocks, matching colors, mixing plain and patterned pieces, fabric dying, and collage. The book’s questions with answers are categorized according to themed chapters that cover everything from Tools and Materials to Patchwork as Artwork. Instruction is enhanced with approximately 100 illustrations in color and black and white.
